Microsoft is updating the AB-100 skills measured on November 16, 2026. The three domains keep their names, but the weights shift toward planning and design, and a few sub-skills change. This site teaches both versions and shows the weights that match your exam date. Always confirm against the official study guide before you sit.

Where the points are
Current outline through Nov 15, 2026
Upcoming outline from Nov 16, 2026
Bars are relative to the largest domain in each outline. Your exam date currently falls under the —.
| Domain | Objectives | Study guide |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Plan AI-powered business solutions | 1.1 Analyze requirements for AI-powered business solutions 1.2 Design an overall AI strategy 1.3 Evaluate costs and benefits |
Plan guide → |
| 2. Design AI-powered business solutions | 2.1 Design AI and agents 2.2 Design extensibility for AI solutions 2.3 Design prebuilt agents and apps (Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365 Copilot) |
Design guide → |
| 3. Deploy AI-powered business solutions | 3.1 Monitor and tune agents 3.2 Test agents and solutions 3.3 Manage application lifecycle (ALM) 3.4 Responsible AI, security, and governance |
Deploy guide → |
If your date is before November 16, 2026, Deploy (monitoring, testing, ALM, governance) is nearly half the exam. On or after that date, Plan and Design together are about 70%. Either way, the exam rewards picking the least complex Microsoft option that meets every stated requirement.
What 700 costs you
Microsoft does not publish the raw-to-scaled conversion, and questions can carry different weights. As a working estimate, this site treats 70% correct as 700.
| Correct on a 50-question practice exam | Percent | Estimated scaled score | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 of 50 | 60% | 600 | Fail |
| 33 of 50 | 66% | 660 | Just short |
| 35 of 50 | 70% | 700 | Pass |
| 40 of 50 | 80% | 790 | Comfortable pass |
| 45 of 50 | 90% | 890 | Ready |

Exam-day checklist
Before
- Run the system test the day before if you test online, and clear your desk.
- Bring a valid government ID that matches your Microsoft certification profile name.
- Skim the three cheat sheets at the bottom of each guide — nothing new.
- Sleep. A rested architect reads constraints; a tired one reads keywords.
During
- Read the requirement list first, then the question. Underline residency, cost, latency, and “least effort” clues.
- Case studies can lock once you leave them. Finish each case before moving on.
- Watch for “Each correct answer presents part of the solution” — multiple-select items.
- Never leave anything blank. There is no penalty for a wrong answer.
